The Psychology of Places

Recently, we had the pleasure of hosting Dr. Elisabeta Militaru for a talk on “The Psychology of Places” as part of our Careers out of Psychology series.

Elisabeta Militaru is a PhD student at the Cambridge Personality and Social Dynamics Research Group at the University of Cambridge. In her research, Elisabeta seeks to explore how fundamental aspects of physical spaces can influence our thoughts, feelings, behaviours, and personality traits.

During the talk, Elisabeta shared her journey as a geographical psychologist detailing her experiences in academia, public policy, and the startup world. She also provided an overview of geographical psychology, a discipline situated at the intersection of psychology, geography, and data science.
