The far right in Latin America
Dr. Lisa Zanotti delivered a lecture in our Comparative Politics class focusing on the populist radical right in Latin America. Lisa is currently an Editor-in-Chief of the ECPR journal PRX and, as of March, she will be an Assistant Professor at Diego Portales University in Santiago de Chile. Her works mainly focuses on topics related to party systems, populism, and radical right-wing politics in Latin America and Western Europe.
Lisa’s lecture began by defining the far right and then delved into the context of the far right in Latin America, providing a historical overview up to the present day and presenting case studies from Brazil, El Salvador, Argentina, Uruguay, Peru, and Chile.
