Naveed S. Sheikh is a lecturer in International Relations at Keele University, having previously held visiting fellowships at Harvard University and Hosei University in Tokyo. He holds a PhD from the University of Cambridge as well as a MA from the University of Durham and BA (Hons) from the University of Buckingham. Dr Sheikh completed his BA in two years, received five merit prizes for academic excellence, and was presented with the Edgar Palamountain Medal of Excellence by Lady Thatcher in 1997. His research expertise lies in Identity and (inter)national security; Terrorism and political violence; Religion and world politics; and The global politics of Islam.
