At Forward College we believe that you will learn as much from your fellow students as from your teachers. Throughout your 3 years, we will make sure that your student experience in Lisbon, Paris, and Amsterdam is as enriching and stimulating as possible, allowing you to become the best version of yourself.
The first year of Forward learning expedition begins in Lisbon which has been recognised one of the best places to learn in Europe.
The Forward Learning Centre is located in a beautiful historic building on Rua das Flores, a central and lively area of Lisbon, just 5 min from the famous Praça do Comércio. The building has the perfect mix of both modern features and traditional Portuguese Architecture. We have 5 different types of study rooms and a dedicated meditation room where students can recharge.
Here you will live with other Forward students in a dedicated residence where you’ll meet new friends from all over the world with whom passions and journeys can be shared.
Located in the vibrant area of Benfica, in a neighbourhood with many universities, our Lisbon Home is just five minutes away from the Parque Florestal de Monsanto, one of the most beautiful parks in Lisbon with a variety of activities on offer from tennis to hiking. You will also be a five-minute walk from the metro connecting you directly to the city centre.
The Forward Residences have study rooms, a private garden, a gym, a media room and on-site laundry. Each individual room (13-20 m²) has its own private bathroom. Prices range between 550€ and 830€ monthly.
At Forward you will get a chance to be involved in Student Associations and Extracurricular Activities such as sport, cultural activities, community service, language courses and pretty much anything you and your peers are interested in. It will be up to you to find colleagues to team up with to make these activities happen. Our team will be there to support your initiatives and connect you to our network of local partner organisations.
At Forward we care about your wellbeing and mental health. Did you know that four out of five students feel anxiety at some point in their studies? Going to university is a very big transition; this is why every member of our faculty will be there to guide you. Short-term counselling is available during your first year at Forward College as you transition and adapt to the academic, personal and emotional challenges of entering university. As part of our Personal Development programme, you will also learn how to understand and manage your emotions, participate in weekly practice sessions to manage stress and much more.
You will also be assigned a personal tutor. This is a member of the teaching faculty who regularly meets with their appointed student for a 1:1 chat, and can offer academic and pastoral support.
You will start your experience at Forward with a two-week induction programme in September. During these two weeks, you will have the opportunity to get prepared for your academic year: you will learn about yourself and your working styles; you will take in talks from inspiring speakers; you will build strong relationships with your peers through fun activities like surfing and yoga on the beach, and you will hone your collaborative abilities in a cooking contest and a competition to produce, in teams, short documentaries about Portugal.
