Dr. Joana Hissa

Dr. Joana Hissa is a registered psychologist with the Ordem dos Psicólogos Portugueses (Association of Portuguese Psychologists) and the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) in the UK. Born between Brazil and Portugal, she completed her Bachelor’s degree in International Relations and Psychology at the University of St Andrews, Scotland. Following that, she studied mental health counselling at New York University and worked as a mental health counsellor in one of the leading training institutes of the city. Joana then completed her doctorate in Counselling Psychology at Trinity College in Dublin and has worked with teenagers and young adults since, in Dublin, London and Lisbon. She currently holds a small private practice and acts as the Wellbeing Coordinator and Student Counsellor at Forward College.
