Lavar, Class of 2027
Meet Lavar from the United Kingdom
Lavar has always wanted to pursue a career in politics and legislation. This ambition shaped his choices throughout high school, where he created a documentary exploring the systemic racism built into the foundations of British institutions. That experience convinced him to study abroad.
Why did he join Forward College?
Lavar had originally planned to study in the US, but discovering Forward College during his gap year completely changed the course of his studies. Now a third-year student based in Berlin, he sees it as the best decision he could have made. Forward has allowed him to combine his career ambitions in politics with a deep passion for social justice and advocacy. Studying across three countries alongside students from all over the world has also broadened his knowledge and his curiosity about people and the ways we are all connected.
Outside the classroom
Alongside his studies, Lavar has made the most of each city to explore his many interests, working as a model in Lisbon and as a chef in Paris. Each city has given him the chance to embrace a different side of himself.
