Inês Garcia

Inês Garcia grew up in Lisbon and has worked as a teacher of Portuguese as a foreign language since 2021. Being also a teacher of Portuguese as a native language in the Portuguese education system, teaching language, literature and culture, Inês holds a Bachelor’s degree in Arts and Humanities with a major in Comparative Literature and Art History. Inês also holds postgraduate degrees in Teaching Portuguese as a Foreign Language and in Art Curating. She is presently taking her Master’s degree in Teaching Portuguese in Primary and Secondary Schools. 

Throughout her teaching practice, Inês has been keen on interdisciplinarity in language learning, using her knowledge of art, culture and literature in language teaching and intercultural exchange. She always seeks to reconcile her multiple interests and has found in language teaching a place to share knowledge, experiences and perspectives, motivated by her passion for education.

Working as a Language Fellow at Forward College since 2023, Inês continues to pursue the student’s integration into the Portuguese language and culture during their first year in Lisbon.
