Overview
Tradition for excellence
Innovation for relevance
Forward College is designed for bright undergraduate students who wish to go beyond academic excellence. Our students combine prestigious Bachelor’s programmes with a unique international experience, small-class teaching by a world-class faculty, and leadership development.
Step 1: Explore our majors
Forward College covers 5 broad disciplines within social sciences to develop a deep understanding of the world. Some of our programmes combine two disciplines while the Open Bachelor’s allows students to explore a variety of subjects in Year 1 before specialising in a Major / Minor in Years 2 and 3.
Step 2: Select the intensity of your programme
Forward College offers 3 formats of undergraduate programmes to accommodate different needs and potentials.
Our Bachelor’s degrees designed by the LSE and KCL
Forward College has an agreement that allows us to offer Bachelor’s degrees under the academic direction of the London School of Economics (LSE, #3 in Europe*) or King’s College London (KCL #6 in Europe).
If you choose to apply to one of these bachelors’, you will be registered simultaneously at Forward College and the University of London. The University of London is the historic institution founded in 1836 which, until recently, awarded the degrees from most London based universities, including the LSE and KCL.
This dual registration is a formality and is included in our tuition fees. Concretely, for students, this means that:
- The programmes are designed by either the LSE or KCL. Students have access to all the learning material elaborated by academics from these institutions.
- Forward College provides the teaching on our campuses with our own professors who have been vetted by either the LSE or KCL. They follow the programmes as defined by the LSE or KCL.
- Annual exams are graded by academics from the LSE or KCL depending on your programme.
- At the end of the three-year programme, the degrees are awarded to our graduates by the University of London. The diploma specifies that they are awarded under the academic direction of the LSE or KCL depending on the programme completed.
Our Open Bachelor’s
With this innovative programme, you will experience the freedom of U.S. liberal education with a forward looking twist.
This unique curriculum is multidisciplinary and customisable, allowing students to better apprehend global challenges, understand the dynamics of change and identify opportunities to make a difference. Our approach emphasises a balance of theory, application, and hands-on practice, with a strong focus on project-based learning and teamwork.
In their first year, students select their crouses from a broad range of subjects. By the second and third years, they specialise in order to meet the requirements for demanding disciplinary masters’ degrees in addition to interdisciplinary masters’. Students can also adjust the intensity of their programme, selecting a Bachelor’s, Bachelor’s + or a Double Bachelor’s degree.
- Flexibility: explore freely in Year 1, and specialise in Years 2 and 3.
- Integration: Combination of academic theories, applications and leadership practice.
- Innovation: strong focus on contemporary challenges (climate change, technological advancements, inequalities…) and potential solutions.
- Format: BSc (5 course / term), BSc+ (6 courses / term) or double BSc (7 courses/term) allowing for a double major.
- Degree: Bachelor’s in Social Science and Technology designed and awarded by Forward College.
- Accreditation: We expect the Open Bachelor to be accredited by the French Ministry of Education during the academic year of 2024/2025. French Bachelors are recognised internationally.
