how-to-apply

On this page, you will find out about the application process for Forward College, including what documents you need to submit, the interview and accepting your offer.

Applications to Forward College open in October and close in July. However, we recommend that you apply before 31st March, as places for some programmes may be limited after that.

Check our Entry Requirements here.

How to Apply

Our application process includes an online Application Form to fill in, and documents to provide.

Once this is submitted, please book a conversation with a current Forward College student. During this time, our Admissions team will assess your application.

You will be contacted shortly after and, if your application is promising, you will be invited for an interview.

The Admissions team is available for questions at all times by email at admissions@forward-college.eu.

There is no application fee.

1. Application Form

You will start your application directly with Forward College via our online Application Form.

You will need to provide the following: copies of your school transcripts from the last two years or university studies if you are a transfer student; if available, please send us official translated copies in English; if required, proof of your English language level; examples of your extracurricular accomplishments or experiences.

2. Student Conversation

This is a chance for you to ask any questions about our programmes and student life.

3. Forward Interview

If you meet our entry requirements and we consider your application to be promising, you will be invited to an interview. The interview lasts approximately 30 minutes and is done virtually via Google Meet and gives us an opportunity to discuss why you want to join Forward, and the programme you applied for. It also gives us the opportunity to know you better and assess your personality type, how you think, and how you communicate.

4. Committee decision

Every Thursday a weekly admissions committee meeting is held. Based on your interview and full application, a decision on whether you are admitted is made and communicated to you both by email and mail.

Other
considerations

If you are thinking of applying for financial support, you can research the types of support we offer and our eligibility criteria on our dedicated page. Make sure to indicate this on your Application Form.

If you will be under 18 years old at the start of your course or if you wish to share any special needs you believe you have, please make sure to indicate these details on the Enrollment Form.

Application timeline

Admissions open in October and close in July but some programmes may be full before that date. Our dedication to small-class sizes means there are limited spaces for our programmes. If you want to guarantee your place in our next cohort we encourage you to apply early.

We encourage non-EU students to apply before 31st of March, to allow for enough time for the visa application process.

Decisions are typically sent out two weeks from the day of the interview.

Late Entry

You can still apply to Forward College after 31st May, but you will be considered only if places are available for your programme of choice. We will aim to inform you on a case-by-case basis over the summer.

We recommend that non-EU students apply before 31st March.

Accepting your offer

If you are successful in your application to Forward College and accept your offer, you will be sent a Certificate of Enrolment from Forward College. Following this, you can start preparing your move to Lisbon.

To confirm your enrolment, you are required to submit an enrolment deposit equal to 20% of the tuition fees for the upcoming academic year. This deposit will be deducted from your first tuition fee installment. Please note that €1,000 of the deposit is non-refundable. After May 31st, 50% of the deposit becomes non-refundable. Refund requests will not be accepted after June 30th, 2024, unless you fail the last year of high school. To request a refund, you must submit a written claim as soon as possible.

Whether you are an EU/EEA or non-EU/EEA citizen, you will need to comply with the legislation of local authorities and different EU member states where you will be studying.

As a European student, you are entitled to study at a university in any EU country under the same conditions as nationals. However, conditions of entry vary between individual countries.

By European students, we mean students from one of the countries of the European Union, from one of the countries of the European Economic Area (EEA) (EU + Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein), and from Switzerland.

As a non-EU/EEA/Swiss citizen, as well as complying with the local legislation and registration, you will need to apply for student visas as you move across the Forward College campuses in the EU. Conditions of entry vary between individual countries.

Please note that visa applications can take up to three months. It is therefore important that you start your application as soon as you have accepted your offer.

We will fully refund any paid course fees in the case of a formal visa refusal. Refunds will be subject to a €180 administrative charge.
