Career possibilities

Many of our graduates have chosen to pursue careers in the financial sector, including positions involving economics research as well as those in banking or hedge funds. Others take up positions as economic or management consultants, join central banks, their home country’s government economic service or international organisations. Our graduates have also found work with a huge variety of employers including multilateral and intergovernmental organisations, non-governmental organisations, banking and accounting services, local and national governments, educational establishments, and media and publishing companies.
A significant number chooses to go on to graduate study, not just in economics but also in finance, management, development, economic history, economics policy and other fields. We work to prepare our students who are aiming in this direction to understand the rewards of engaging in economics research and the benefits of interacting with faculty and industry professionals who are leading economists.
