Dr. Haikel Latiff
Head of Business and Management
Born in Singapore, Haikel completed his BA(Hons) in Sociology and Psychology at Nanyang Technological University Singapore where he also earned a Certificate in Teaching Methodology. He moved to New York University for his postgraduate studies in Applied Quantitative Research and Sociology. He pursued his Ph.D in sociology at Bielefeld University in Germany.
Haikel initially began his career in marketing at Wunderman LLC in Singapore and New York City before moving to several startups as a consultant and culminating in a stint as a Marketing Strategist at Sony Consumer Electronics Europe. His portfolios included market expansion and brand recognition for diverse product and brand portfolios. Noteworthy accomplishments include orchestrating the launch of experimental products in the German market, the relaunch of a B2B strategy and product at a startup and launching multiple products as part of a product ecosystem. His keen market insights, combined with a strategic approach, has been instrumental in driving P&L growth, identifying market opportunities, capturing new segments, and fostering sustainable growth.
Haikel’s academic career has included the study of Urban identities and cultures at the Center of Urban Science and Progress at NYU as well as a keen interest in digital ethnography, cultures and communities. He has taught a breadth of modules in Sociology at the Singapore University of Social Sciences as well as a range of Business and Marketing modules with Fresenius Hochschule and University of Europe in Germany.
Haikel joined Forward College in 2023 and has since taught Business and Management at Forward’s Berlin campus.
