Meet Amelie from Germany
Amelie is a first-year student enrolled in our Bachelor’s+ in Politics and International Relations. Born and raised in Germany, she also embraces her Peruvian and Sri Lankan heritage. With Spanish and German spoken at home and time spent in both countries, Amelie has grown up with a rich blend of cultures.
She had always known she wanted to study International Relations, drawn to the subject’s global focus and opportunities for travel. When she discovered Forward College’s multi-country programme, it felt like the perfect fit to pursue her academic and personal ambitions.
Alongside her studies, Amelie dedicates time to her passion for dancing. She takes regular classes in styles such as jazz funk, contemporary, and salsa. Outside the studio, she loves to unwind by cooking, baking, and reading, making the most of her time in Lisbon.
Why did she join Forward College?
Amelie was drawn to Forward College for its international experience and the chance to live and study in different countries. It offered her a way to combine academic excellence with cultural exploration and a close-knit, global community.
Best memory at Forward College
One of Amelie’s favourite memories so far is a day spent at Caparica Beach with friends during the first weeks in Lisbon. “It was the first ‘core memory’ of many that I’ve made with my friends. We didn’t fully know each other yet, so it was a wonderful moment to bond, laugh, and get to know one another.
